The Sea No Longer
“but when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, “O man of little faith, why did you doubt?”
In our lives the waves crash over us. Sometimes we don’t even realize we are drowning. When that moment of clarity happens, when we see things the way they really are, panic sets in. A struggle to regain control and a battle to keep afloat assumes the position of royalty in our lives. The answer I have found is to reach for Jesus. It is not a matter of if the wind, water or waves will come but that they will remain. Reach for the one that says peace be still and be in the sea no longer.
